The place of cultural orientation for our people cannot be overemphasized, especially at this point in our nation’s history. It must be clearly understood that a person is a cultural being before becoming a citizen of a country, and unless one realizes their cultural identity, they cannot form a component of a nation’s identity. Therefore, when a person sees their culture as of utmost importance to their being and existence, they will realize the essence of national pride. The value of a nation is intrinsically tied to the value of the individual, so what value do you profess and exhibit? We must start from that point as a people; we had it right in the past, but currently, in 2024, we are disconnected. We must revive our cultural values.”
